The Above difference
Why the Colorado Springs area calls Above first
Most door companies quote low on the phone and “discover” problems in your driveway. We run the opposite play: measure, quote flat, fix once.
-
The price is the price
Your quote is written before work starts and it does not move once you approve it. If something extra turns up, you see the part in your hand before we touch it.
-
Stocked trucks, one visit
Springs in sizes, cables, rollers, struts, and several opener models ride on every truck, so the large majority of repairs finish the same visit they start.
-
Technicians, not salespeople
Nobody earns a commission on upsells here. Pay is tied to completed, warrantied work, so a recommendation to replace instead of repair only happens when repair genuinely loses.
-
A warranty with teeth
Parts and labor are guaranteed in writing on every installation and repair. If the same fault returns inside the window, so do we — at no charge.
How it works
Four steps. No surprises.
The same sequence on every job — it is why our review page reads the way it does.
- 01
Tell us the symptom
Call or send the form — a dispatcher, not a bot, asks the handful of questions that narrow down the fault before a truck is ever sent.
- 02
Flat-rate quote on site
The technician measures, inspects, and hands over a written flat price. Approve it, or wave the tech off and pay nothing.
- 03
Fixed that same visit
Parts come off the truck, the door is repaired or installed, and the result is cycle-tested through a full range of motion before the workspace is swept.
- 04
Backed in writing
A warranty card, the safety checklist that was run, and a reminder for next year’s tune-up — the file stays on record either way.
Proof, not promises
Recent work across the metro
Straight off the trucks — installs, rebuilds and the streets we service, unretouched.

Definitely 5 out 5 stars. Came at a moments notice because I goofed and unwound one of the garage door pulleys. They did a full service on my door and fixed all my issues. Price was very reasonable, too.

Hands down the best garage door service ever. Had an accident with garage and car and previous garage dealer quoted 3500.00. Above the rest came out and fixed the door for fraction of that and even replaced the motor. Mike our tech was amazing. Bear down buddy!

Hannah, Mike and the crew are the best outfit in town! Just got my new garage door opener with remotes, key pad and indoor button installed and it was quick and easy. Mike was super knowledgeable and didn’t try to sell me on stuff that I didn’t need. If you want a garage door company that services your needs then look no further than Above the Rest Garage Doors!

Their name speaks for themselves! Ed and the whole team, from the front desk all the way to the support crew are fantastic to work with. We had an odd ball project- we wanted to convert a roll up garage door to a swing door, and Ed didn’t even blink. He came up with clever ideas and made the project a reality for an extremely reasonable price. Others quoted 10x the price. The door works great and the final look is fantastic! They completed new trim work, painted everything to match, and left everything clean and tidy to boot. I would 100% recommend them to anyone for any type of project.

Eddie was so professional and so knowledgeable! He got my garage door fixed, had no concerns when he got there about fixing it, which left me feeling very confident in the service. Not only did he fix my garage door but he also educated myself and my husband on what it needs to be maintained properly. Super helpful will recommend them to everybody who needs this type of service. Thank you guys EDIT: Just as Eddie and I had talked about garage door needed minor repairs down the road, I am a renter so he could only do what was approved at the time. You all know how that goes lol. Bryan came out this time, and service was just as exceptional! He took the time to evaluate the situation, listened to the things that I wanted to let him know about. And then got the job done. He didn't try to leave right away when the job was done He looked at everything and realized it still wasn't good enough even though it was running perfectly, went back readjusted gave him a little bit of trouble, he was patient, calm, and professional the entire time. Ended up figuring out where the issue was and garage door is running better than when I'm in the house! Thank you guys so much

Above the Rest has been great to work with on all four of our garage installs. Ed went above and beyond to help us close up our openings until our garages arrived and was great with communication throughout the process. Highly recommend Above the Rest for your garage door needs :)

Straight answers
Questions we get every week
The same answers our dispatchers give on the phone — prices, timelines and the repair-or-replace math, in plain terms.
What is considered low income in Colorado Springs?
HUD treats low income in Colorado Springs as 80% of the area median income for the Colorado Springs MSA, and the dollar cutoff changes by household size each year. A single person and a family of four are not the same number. Use HUD’s current income-limits table or El Paso County housing programs for the figure that applies to you.
Why are so many people leaving Colorado Springs?
People leave Colorado Springs for jobs, military PCS moves, family, or housing costs — Fort Carson, Peterson, and the Air Force Academy drive a lot of that turnover. It is churn plus Front Range rent and home prices, not a unique collapse. If you are deciding whether to stay, weigh your housing payment against local wages, not a viral headline.
Can I get $500 in rental assistance in Colorado Springs?
There is no walk-in $500 rental-assistance check in Colorado Springs. Help, when it is open, runs through El Paso County Human Services, 211, and local nonprofits, and the amount depends on eligibility and what funding is left. Call those offices and ask what is available this month; do not pay or wire anyone who texts you a “rental grant.”
What salary is needed to live comfortably in Colorado Springs?
Comfortable in Colorado Springs depends on household size, debt, and whether you rent or own — there is no one salary that fits everyone. Housing is the swing factor: cheaper than Denver, still expensive if the payment eats most of take-home pay. Add rent or mortgage, utilities, and car costs first, then compare to net pay; a round number from a listicle is not a budget.
Can I walk into a Colorado DMV without an appointment?
Most El Paso County motor-vehicle work is appointment-based; walking in without one often means a long wait or being turned away for license and registration. Check the El Paso County Motor Vehicle site for the current walk-in rules at the office you need. Bring the exact documents on their checklist so you are not sent home.
What is the best time to book a DMV appointment?
Book the earliest weekday slot you can get. Tuesday through Thursday mornings are usually less slammed than Mondays and Saturdays. Grab the first open time and confirm the location — county motor-vehicle offices and third-party providers are not the same line.
