01The practice

Good work is rarely a single step.It is a long, calm attention to detail.

Kansas was founded in 2011 on an unfashionable idea: that a dermatology visit should feel like time slowing down, not speeding up. Appointments run twenty-five minutes, not seven. Physicians — never a rotating cast — carry your history from visit to visit. And nothing is ever recommended in the room that has not been explained, priced, and written down first.

Care in every register

Medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology under one roof — each led by a physician, each explained before it begins.

Physician examining a patient’s skin with a dermatoscope

Mohs Surgery

Mohs surgery in Kansas City treats many skin cancers by removing tissue layer by layer until the margins are clear, by appointment with board-certified dermatologists. Reconstruction and scar orientation are explained before cutting on a visible area such as the face or nose.

Eczema, Psoriasis & Independence

Eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea care in Kansas City is medical dermatology for flares, flushing, and skin that got worse after a prior routine. We simplify what is irritating the barrier, then adjust prescriptions if a cream stings instead of stacking more actives.

Four unhurried steps, from the first call to long-term skin health. Nothing is decided in the room; everything is decided by you.

  4. Care that keeps watching

09Fees & insurance

Fees, insurance & the absence of surprises

Transparency is a clinical instrument. You will know what a visit costs before you sit down.

Dermatology has a reputation for surprise bills. We treat pricing as part of the medicine: verified benefits before your first visit, written estimates before any procedure, and a fee schedule the front desk will read to you over the phone.

  • Most PPO medical plans accepted
  • Benefits verified before visit one
  • Written estimate before any procedure
  • HSA / FSA welcome

Extended payment plans are available for surgical and cosmetic care over $500 — arranged in writing before treatment begins.

11Questions

Asked quietly, answered plainly

The questions patients actually ask — costs, waits, insurance, and what happens if we find something.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept most PPO medical plans and verify your exact benefits before your first appointment, so you see your estimated out-of-pocket cost in writing before you are seen. Medical dermatology — screenings, acne, eczema, surgical care — is typically covered; cosmetic treatments are self-pay with a published fee schedule.

How soon can I be seen?

New patients are typically seen within the same week. We hold two urgent slots each morning for concerning lesions, sudden rashes, and post-procedure questions — call the desk and say it is urgent, and a person will handle it.

What happens if you find something during a screening?

Your physician shows you the finding on screen, explains it in plain language, and lays out the options — usually a small biopsy done the same day if you choose. Results are called to you by the physician, never a portal notification, within a week.

What does a first visit cost?

With insurance, we verify your benefits first and tell you your copay and any deductible impact before the visit. Without insurance, a new-patient consultation and full-skin exam is a flat . Cosmetic consultations are complimentary.

Will I see an actual physician?

Yes. Every new patient is seen by a board-certified dermatologist, and you keep the same physician across visits. Our physician assistant handles follow-up care under their direction — you will never be handed to a stranger.

Do you treat children?

Yes — our pediatric dermatologist is fellowship-trained and sees every patient under eighteen. Parents stay in the room, appointments run at the child’s pace, and morning slots are reserved for our youngest patients.

Are cosmetic treatments performed by physicians?

Always. Neuromodulators, fillers, and laser treatments are performed by board-certified physicians — not delegated. We are deliberately conservative: reversible options are preferred, and we routinely advise patients to do less than they came in asking for.
