Physician examining a patient’s skin with a dermatoscope

Skin Cancer Care

Acne Scars and Textured Skinin Kansas City, MO

Acne scars and textured skin in Kansas City are treated with options such as laser resurfacing and microneedling after we set a realistic range for improvement and session count. Results vary by scar type; we will not promise a one-visit reset.

A yearly skin examination is the single most valuable half-hour in dermatology, and the whole reason the practice exists. A board-certified physician examines you head to toe with a dermatoscope, photographs and maps anything worth watching, and compares it against your record from the year before — so a change of two millimetres does not go unnoticed. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is found and left unexplained.

01What it includes

Inside the treatment

  • A full head-to-toe examination performed by a physician, never delegated
  • Dermoscopy and photographic mapping of any lesion worth watching
  • Year-over-year comparison against your own baseline record
  • A same-day biopsy of anything suspicious, if and only if you choose it
  • Findings shown to you on screen and explained in plain language
  • Results phoned to you by the physician — never left to a portal

02What to expect

From first visit to follow-through

  1. A calm, unhurried exam

A physician examines every area of skin methodically, dermatoscope in hand. The room is warm, the pace is yours, and questions are welcome from the first minute to the last.

  2. Map and compare

Anything worth watching is photographed and measured, then compared against your record from previous visits — so real change is obvious and coincidence is not mistaken for it.

  3. Decide together

If a lesion warrants a closer look, the options are laid out plainly — usually a small same-day biopsy — and the choice is always yours to make.

  4. Clear follow-through

Any biopsy result is phoned to you by the physician within a week, with the next step, if there is one, explained before you hang up.

04Questions

On this treatment

What happens if you find something during a screening?

Your physician shows you the finding on screen, explains it in plain language, and lays out the options — usually a small biopsy done the same day if you choose. Results are called to you by the physician, never a portal notification, within a week.

How soon can I be seen?

New patients are typically seen within the same week. We hold two urgent slots each morning for concerning lesions, sudden rashes, and post-procedure questions — call the desk and say it is urgent, and a person will handle it.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept most PPO medical plans and verify your exact benefits before your first appointment, so you see your estimated out-of-pocket cost in writing before you are seen. Medical dermatology — screenings, acne, eczema, surgical care — is typically covered; cosmetic treatments are self-pay with a published fee schedule.
