How it goes

1. Map the face. The barber reads your jaw, your growth, and where the beard is thin or strong before deciding a single line — the map is yours, not a template.
2. Set the length. Bulk is taken down with shears rather than one guard, so the beard keeps a natural edge and the taper follows the shape of your face.
3. Razor the lines. Cheek and neck lines are finished with a straight razor for a clean, grown-in edge, and detailed around the moustache and corners.
4. Oil & record. A pass of house oil is brushed through, and the line heights go on your card so year two matches year one exactly.
