Ear Infection & Skin Care in Boulder

Expert ear infection & skin care in Boulder. Licensed, insured, upfront pricing.

Dental disease hides below the gumline, which is why a visual look in an awake pet’s mouth catches only a fraction of what’s actually there. Every dental procedure at Pearl Street Animal Hospital includes pre-anesthetic bloodwork, a technician dedicated solely to monitoring anesthesia, and full-mouth digital X-rays — most dental disease is invisible without them. You approve a written estimate before anything happens, get photos of every stage, and a same-evening call to see how your pet is recovering.

What's Included

What this visit includes

  • Pre-anesthetic bloodwork to confirm your pet is a safe candidate that day
  • A technician whose only job during the procedure is anesthesia monitoring
  • Full-mouth digital X-rays — most dental disease lives below the gumline
  • A written estimate you approve before any extraction beyond the plan
  • Photos of every stage, sent home so you can see exactly what was done
  • A same-evening check-in call after every dental procedure

What To Expect

How the visit goes

  1. Pre-anesthetic workup

Bloodwork confirms your pet is a safe candidate for anesthesia that day — never assumed, always checked.

  2. Full-mouth X-rays first

Imaging happens before any cleaning decision, so the plan reflects what’s actually under the gumline.

  3. You approve the plan

If X-rays show something beyond a routine cleaning, we call with a written estimate before doing anything further.

  4. Recovery, with a nurse beside them

A dedicated recovery nurse stays with your pet until they’re steady, then calls you that evening to check in.

Questions

Questions about ear infection & skin care

What happens during a dental procedure?

Pre-anesthetic bloodwork, a dedicated technician monitoring anesthesia the entire time, full-mouth digital X-rays (most dental disease hides below the gumline), cleaning and any extractions you pre-approved, then recovery with a nurse beside your pet. You get photos of every stage and a same-evening check-in call.

How much does a visit cost?

The exam fee is quoted when you book, and anything beyond the exam — labs, imaging, treatment — comes as a written estimate you approve before we proceed. You will never learn a price for the first time at checkout.

My pet is terrified of the vet. How do you handle that?

This is exactly what our Fear Free certification is for. We schedule longer appointments, use treats and non-slip surfaces, offer feline-only morning blocks with a quiet lobby, and will prescribe pre-visit calming medication when it helps. Many of our most relaxed patients arrived as shaking rescues.
